You have to use ice to remove the gum. Once it's hard, you should be able to take it out without cutting the carpet.

well like others have said first freeze it out. But 100% sure there will still be a mark left . So here is what to do when ever you remove gum from carpet , clothes , you need to whip up 1 egg white lay this on top of the stain leave for 10 min´s or so then sponge of with warm water the mark should come out. Then to wash the carpet use some of your own hair shampoo this cleans carpet just as could as any carpet shampoo, rinse with a sponge ans cold water making sure you remove all the suds. Then lay a towel on top of the wet patch putting a heavy object on top of the towel this will help dry up any remaining water from the underside of the carpet, leave like this over night then leave to dry with natural air

The best way is to buy a can of compressed air. Y'know, the kind you clean a keyboard with. Put the little straw in the nozzle and hold it upside down. When it held upside down the propellant will freeze the gum quickly then you can break it up and remove the pieces.Try to break it us as much as possible to keep from pulling out too much carpet. This is easier than using ice cubes.

ugh this sucks. I have a son. and he had gum once and it got stuck in the carpet and I used scissors!!! I could not get it out any other way. But I have this book called how to clean practically anything and this is what it says...candle wax or chewing gum: Use ice cubes to chill the material to brittleness. Then, using a plastic spatula, carefully scrape the wax or gum from the floor. Hope that helps. good luck!!!

Someone told me to leave an ice-cube on for a while as it solidifies the gum so you can take it off. Stain Devils also make a sticky stuff remover which have heard is v good.

I couldn't believe it when I tried, but it worked. Take Oxyclean, just dry, sprinkle it on, then drizzle warm water over it slowly. Use a paper towel to sort of pick it out, and next thing you know it is just gone. Just cover the whole gum spot with the powder. Not real thick, just covered.

Good Luck!
