Because the chemicals in the plastic bottle begin to break down (although microscopically tiny) thus would alter the water over time.

Government legislation states everything has to have an expiration date for safety. Blame government.

well for starters the chemicals that are used in making them flexible plastic bottles we all love so much leech out and its not a good thing!

I'm not sure either, maybe it is all the things the manufacturers put in the bottles with it.

because its not in its natural form,it is exposed to light ,warm and also anything contained in plastic can create bacteria~
