If left sitting for a few weeks all the oil in the reservoir leaks into the firing chamber and locks up the engine you have to take the spark plug out drain out the oil and wash out the chamber with gas .when using it runs and works fine. ---- tree man.

You would have to have a crack in the case, housing. The saw would not run, that has to sealed, if it leaks you would not be able to draw the gas oil mix into the firing chamber.

The way the 051 is made with the oil tank butted against the crankcase, it has to be a small leak in the seal of the two halves. The part number for the gasket is 1111 029 0501.

worn piston rings. Allows oil from the gearset (transmission) to slowly leak through. Same exact thing happens to older cars and motorcycles.

are you sure it's bar oil and not gas oil mixture and the gas is evporating over time. If it's bar oil you have a cracked head or bad head gasket
