Statistically speaking, the amount of time it took to conceive the first time really has little relation to how long it takes in subsequent pregnancies, unless you have a specific fertility challenge. Some people get pregnant very easily first time round and find it harder later, some people find the opposite. And some find no significant change at all. Having one successful pregnancy does not guarantee or make it easier for a second.
It really can depend on a lot of things - has your lifestyle changed? Is your health better or worse? Have either of you you put on or lost a significant amount of weight? Are you fitter or less fit than the first time around? Are you under similar stress and pressures? How much older are you both this time?
It could take one month, it could take eighteen months - it really depends on a lot of things.
If it did take you a long time to conceive the first time, and it has been quite a number of years since you conceived the first time (more than 5) then perhaps you may want to have a chat with your doctor about ways to assist in speeding up the possibility of conception this time around.
Best of luck.

I think that when trying for a second child there is probably not as much worry or concern and doubt, so there is less pressure and therefore, probably easier. At least you know that it's possible and you aren't wondering each time if it's going to work. Now, you know that it worked before and it will work again. =-) Good luck and don't stress about it!

It's always easier the second time. It's just like opening the flood gate. When a girl is disvirgined, the second time is always less painful. It's the same way.
The hormones, and all the parameters needed for conception get revved up by the first conception and are therefore geared for the same function again.
