Yeah, you should be able to if its the same size. Some laptops have an adapter attached to it, so you have to make sure it will fit to the laptop. Or if the old laptop has the hard drive, just take the adapter off of that. I was trying to add a hard drive to my laptop because its expandable but i dont have an adapter for it.

I would say yes, but you should always check just to be sure. You should check what kind of hard disk your laptop can take. Most laptops today either take atapi or serial. An atapi hard disk won't work with a serial connector, but a serial HD might also have an atapi connector on it for backward compatibility. Always, always, ALWAYS check if the upgrade you are buying for your laptop is compatible!

However saying all that you should be sure your BIOS and operating system, ie: windows 98,200, XP, Vista, Mac, on your laptop supports your hard disk size, otherwise your computer may only reconize a 100GB hard disk as having only 40GB of hard disk space.

I would imagine so...I took a 30 Gb hard drive from a Gateway 1450 Solo and put it in a Compaq Presario 1245, and it works just fine.

Yup, most laptops use a 2.5" hard drive.
