If you get both the upholstery and the carpet cleaned by the same service at the same time, you'll save some bucks.
Between $7-$11 a linear foot for most sofa/loveseats of synthetic fabric. Higher for reversible or multipart cushions and throw-pillows, also more money for raw cottons or handworking difficult fabric finishes like chintz, silk and sueded deep pile types. Add'l costs for deodorizer, pre-treatment for oily soiling, enzymatic treatment for protein based stains, etc often apply.
Most companys run specials on a per room basis-cheapest cost on whole house cleaning, but 1-2 rooms can run from $30-$50. There's usually a sq. footage limitation. Extras can be for pet-stain treatment or thermal removal of red dyes and for fabric protectant such as scotchguard.
Also geographic location can affect prices-Mine is Central California.Your local Yellow Pages'll no doubt feature coupons/specials, but like many things-you get what you pay for-slap-dash quickies are cheap, but quality work takes time, hence money.

It varies with the person/company who does it. You can look in the phone book for coupons/discounts. That would help cut price or get price matching from another place.
You could also rent a cleaner from most grocery stores. Call around and ask what the pricing is.

At a guess about £50 per room. See Yell.com/Carpet Cleaners for more precise details.

Hire a machine and do it yourself. It's much cheaper that way.
