Yesterday I posted the following question here:

In all but a few answers from Republicans you hear the same flawed utopic self-reliance jumble that prays opportunity is out there for everyone- Republicans are the hard working market-minded ones and that Democrat voters are just the lazy spoiled people looking to benefit from the welfare. So my question would be,why do YOU republicans assume that all people currently enrolled on welfare are liberals? If it was mandatory to ask what party someone belongs to when enrolling for goverment assistance, wouldnt numbers be torn between repubs and dems? Data for 2004 presidential ellections shows that Kerry raked in 56% of votes from people who held *post-graduate*education, while bush only raked in about 44%.So I ask, did that majority of lazy "Commies"as you republicans like to dub got that far ahead in life by sucking on welfare?

To koalatnomics: . You seem too focused on the head of the question which is merely illustrative, and ignored my detailed core question. Your listing of FACTS seems more like an attempt to make moral judgements about the democratic party, than answering my question, which was made very clear. I understand that is a very tough question for neo-cons to answer.
I dont consider self-reliance a jumbled concept- It is what drives progess and our economic leadership. In fact, the intent of this question is to show that's not a concept only conservatives bear in mind
