I have a 1992 K1500. It came from the factory without a tach.Will a instrument cluster with a tach out of another Chevy truck plug and play with all other funtions working? If so what years would work

the tach will work but i dont think the speedo..

It should work ok. The tach might even work knowing the way things are done in every truck now. Years 1988-1994 trucks have the same dash as yours. The gauge clusters may or may not be the same. Best bet is to probably ask a local chevy dealer. They will be able to tell you what the part number is for your existing cluster and what years the part number was valid for. you can then find probably any cluster from those years and it should work in your truck.

If the tach was an option that year then you just need to find one from that year. I am sure other years would fit but you might have to change the wiring to get it right

You could always get a after market tach and mount it inside the truck. Then you wouldn't have to risk NOT having a speedometer or anything afterwards.

It would be a lot easier to obtain and install a aftermarket tach.
