Brownies

Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method

1/4 Lb Butter
2 Oz Baking Chocolate -- unsweetened
1 C Sugar
2 Eggs
1/2 C Flour
1/2 Tsp Salt
2 Tsp Vanilla
1/4 C Chopped Nuts
Powdered Sugar

Melt buttter, chocolate, and sugar in saucepan over low heat. Beat and
cool. Add eggs one at a time, beating each well into mixture. Sift flour
and salt into mix. Add vanilla and nuts. Pour into greased 7 x 11 pan and
bake for 20 minutes. Sift powdered sugar over top when done and cut into
squares immediately.

Makes 24 brownies.

This is the best best best brownie recipe and they are simple to make too!!

2/3 cup butter or margarine
1 1/2 cups sugar
1/4 cup water
4 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips, divided (24 ounces)
2 teaspoons vanilla
4 eggs
1 1/2 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt

Set oven to 325 degrees.
Grease a 13 x 9" baking pan.
In a heavy saucepan, bring butter, sugar and water to a boil, stirring constantly until the butter is melted and sugar is dissolved (about 3 minutes).
Remove from the heat, with a wooden spoon, stir in 2 cups chocolate chips until melted; cool slightly, beat in vanilla.
In a mixing bowl,whisk eggs, gradually add in the chocolate mixture, beating with a wooden spoon until completely mixed.
Mix together flour, baking soda and salt; add to the egg/chocolate mixture; mix well to combine.
Stir in the remaining chocolate chips.
Spread into prepared baking pan.
Bake for 35-40 minutes (don't overbake).
Cut into squares.
Note: If desired, chopped walnuts may be added
This recipe yields 36 brownies.

I know you want a recipe... but I really think that the best brownies come out of a box, especially if you don't normally bake. All you have to do is add water and egg and it only costs $2-3 to make! I really think you should do that instead... as that is the quickest and easiest way to make good brownies that everyone will enjoy. (Trying a new recipe before hand is a good idea, so for this time I think that it is your best bet)

QUICK CHOCOLATE BROWNIES

3/4 c. flour
1 c. dry sugar substitute, suitable
for baking
1/4 c. cocoa
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. margarine
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. chopped nuts

Combine all ingredients in a mixer bowl. Beat 3 minutes. Pour into lightly greased 8 inch square pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Cool and cut into squares. Note: There is no leavening agent that goes in this recipe.

Cocoa Brownies

Yield: 12-15 servings

¾ cup butter
1+½ cup sugar
2 teaspoon vanilla
3 eggs
¾ cups all-purpose flour
½ cup cocoa powder
1 teaspoon baking powder
a pinch of salt (optional)
3 oz (100 g) chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)

Preheat oven to 350 deg F (Gas mark 4 or 180 deg C).

Line a 13 x 9 in (33 x 23 cm) cake tin with grease proof or other non-stick paper and grease the tin.
Melt the butter.

Beat eggs with sugar, and add vanilla, flour, cocoa, baking powder, salt (optional) and melted butter.

Add chopped nuts.

Bake at 350 degrees until a wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean, approximately 20-30 minutes.

Cool the cake. Dust with powdered sugar or glace with your favorite chocolate frosting.

Variations
Instead of all-purpose flour + baking powder you may use self-raising flour.

BUTTERMILK BROWNIES

2 cups sugar
2 cups sifted flour
4 tbsps. cocoa
1 cup cold water
½ cup margarine
½ cup salad oil
½ cup buttermilk
1 tsp. baking soda
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla

Sift flour, sugar and cocoa in bowl. In a saucepan, bring water oil and margarine to a boil. Pour this over dry ingredients. Beat till smooth. Add buttermilk, soda, eggs and vanilla. Beat well. Bake in greased 10x15" pan at 350° for 25 minutes.

Frosting:
½ cup margarine
¼ cup cocoa
1/3 cup buttermilk

Combine ingredients. Bring to a boil. Add 1 box powdered sugar and ½ tsp. vanilla. Mix well. Spread over brownies
