Washing your hair may not be too convenient in a gas station. When I take car trips I will stop at rest areas along high ways and brush my teeth, wash my face and hands and have seen many others do the same.

Its OK provided a few things:
1) If you know that you're getting 'offensive' and you won't be reaching a bathing destination anytime soon.
2) If no one else is waiting to use the facility
3) If you can't find a pay shower stall at a truck stop
4) If you don't mind the "are you homeless?" looks you'll get while doing it.

I don't see why not as long as there isn't a line and you don't dwadle. The gas station may see it differently though. Are there no truck stops that offer showers?

truck stops often have showers you can pay to use....probably a lot cleaner than you usual restroom at a gas station...would be more refreshing after driving all night.

Go to a truck stop. The bath rooms are nicer and the place is safer.

I see people do it all the time. It would be not only more appropriate, but far easier, to go to a truck stop where they have shower facilities etc for this purpose....

Stop at a truck stop and pay 5 bucks for a shower.

A car wash with your windows down would be more hygienic.

If it appears clean enough for you sure. Just don't leave a mess behind.

Well, I never see anyone doing that but if you do, don't leave a mess behind.
