All that Lime wire does is download things off the Internet and it doesn't really care what they are. Depending on what you download....you could get a virus but it is very unlikely if you are just using it for music. If you have a current version of Norton or Mcafee, it should be fine. What to look out for in limewire are songs that are under 1000 KB, because that means that they are probably fakes...and maybe viruses. Also if you are downloading videos, them ake sure you are not downloading ones that are all in lower case, a .mov file and something like 1550 KB because these are usually not what you are looking for.

Yes, you can - but not with an MP3 file. Most people get viruses from downloading software from Limewire.

Your computer is at risk every time you use a p2p site. You are accepting a file from a stranger, you are allowing them to download anything they like with the file, which includes adding a virus/trojan/worm with the downloaded file.

You wouldn't let a stranger into your home, why would you allow them to send something to your computer?
