O.K.... I need some help here, my cat is pregnant and I have no clue to know when she will be having her babies... I don't know how far along she is.... I think she became pregnant sometime in January. Her belly is huge for such a skinny cat she is. Her nipples are really big and very dry. I can feel the babies move around a lot the last few days, I don't even have to feel you can just look at her and see them moving. She's been sleeping a lot lately more than she usually does, She still goes outside everyday like usual. The last two days she's been wanting me to rub her belly a lot.... I feel like she is getting close only because her belly is so big and I can see them moving so much. Someone told me I'd know by her leaking milk from her nipples but her nipples are not leaking they just are VERY dry. Can someone please help... Thank you

My cat never leaked anything. It sounds like she will birth within the next week by your description. First, stop letting her outside and start feeding her kitten food and keep feeding it to her until she weans the kittens. She should have been on kitten food for the past few weeks.

Take her to the vet so he can go over with you what you will have to do if things dont look right. She should have already been examined.

Get a shallow box and line with towels and show it to her several times. Put it in a quiet room.

Twenty-four to forty-eight hours before the onset of labor your cat will seem more anxious and restless. It will often poke its head about looking for a place to nest and have the litter. But be advised that in some cases nesting behavior can occur as early as three days before delivery. At this point confine her to the room you want her to birth in. This should be a darkened room with an impervious floor in a quiet area of the house. Place food and water in the room.

Cats that are about to go into labor will usually lick their abdomen and vagina persistently. There is often a discharge that precedes birthing but the mother will lick it away as rapidly as it appears. Her cervix will be dilating but no outward signs accompany this. She will loose all interest in food and become serious and attentive to only her licking. If you are perceptive you may notice an increase in her breathing rate. It is quite common for the mother to sit with her mouth open and yowl loudly or pace the room. As her labor progresses and uterine contractions begin pregnant cats will lay on their sides and intermittently squat and press downward to expel the kittens. Do not interrupt or disturb the mother during these periods – just watch from a door left ajar.

I don't have the slightest. All I know is that My cats come to me when they are ready. I fell asleep on the couch last time. I woke up wet and a new kitty on me.

I stayed with her the rest of the night. She had her babies on me over the next 2 hours. All of my cats have come to me when they are having babies. I thought she finally had them all and went to bed. About an hour later, my husband came in and told me that she was having another one.

I went down to check her out. She almost killed it, by biting it's belly button too close. I wiped all the blood off of it and it seemed to be ok.

All four babies are doing great tonight. She had 4 St. Patrick Day babies. Need to come up with some appropriate names. I really thought it would be another week before she had them. She sure suprised me.

Heads start coming out. Just make sure you have a box out for her, with an old blanket or an old towel. Cats usually like to give birth in private, and you should provide that space for her.
