The system.ini does not affect your Windows performance. In inspection of your hardware, I have observed that you only have 256MB of DDR2 RAM. Which is absolutely low for a system of your caliber (Dual core processor, an S-ATA hard disk.)

I suggest upgrading to AT LEAST 512MB of RAM. As 256 is the minimum for decent performance, in which you call it "slow". A gigabyte (1024MB) of RAM is highly recommended, especially if you're playing games.

Hello

You should get a bigger RAM, I advice you to get 1Gb so in the future you will be able to use Windows Vista. 256 MB Ram is very little. When you get a new Ram, choose Kingston they are good. 32 Bit PCs are good, because today most of the software and hardware are designed for 32 Bit. Don't worry about that.
Just get a bigger Ram, most probably you have 4 slots for ram so better to get 2 516 MB RAMs or 4 256 Rams. Most probably it will cost something like $40.

this is the site for your PC, it says that your PC is vista ready, are you sure that you have 256 MB RAm, maybe it is 2560 MB.

just put 1 to 2 gig of ram in that computer as the 256meg is the bottle neck for the slow preformance. I dont understand why you went all out on everything but your memory? you thought the dual core and SATA harddrive was going to make up for the small ram?

so pop a gig of ddr2 this is what I have and its $199 on newegg

You NEED more ram as 512mb is the minimum that you can run now, 1gb is even better. Untill you get more ram try scanning viruses, spyware, defragment, and disk cleanup on the computer, that should help you a little

i recommend using tigerdirect.com, as a 1gb stick of pc4200 dr2 533 mhz from ultra is $70, not $200 on newegg.com, as someone suggested earlier
heres the link to the memory you want
