The 72 virgin thing is just a test.
If you show that you believe there will be 72 virgins waiting for you if you blow yourself up, then they know you are stupid enough to actually do it and that is how they pick out the brainless dolts.
The slave traders used to tell the Africans that in America, pancakes grew on trees and they boarded the ships on their own.
It was the same test. they wanted idots that wouldnt think too much and cause them any trouble.

those "72 vrigins" only a rumor.that statement created by jihadist group to attract more people becime jihadist.
in quran did mentioned about virgin in "not been touched by anyone"-like statement,but it doesn't say how many of them,there is no "72 virgins" words in quran.
