Knowledge is like a grid or network. So first, do some study or read up on the subject for tutorial. That will give you a 'frame' and you will be surprised how much information will stick to that frame, that means things you will remember.
Immediately after tutorial, jot down the key points that you remember, again that will add to your 'network'. Also, take an interest in the subject, that way you will remember everything

Three things:

Read it.

Write it.

Speak it.

Using most of your senses helps your brain to remember the material. Read it from the board, write notes about it, and read the notes aloud when you study. Before a test, it helps to re-read and re-write your notes. Worked for me on my last algebra test. Got a 90.

Good luck!

You should try using a tape recorder and tape what is said for later reference. From there you can take notes and then wipe the tape for your next lesson.

just take notes and notes and more notes, eventually you will get into a habit and get used to writing in dot point form. That way you can always go back over what you've learnt
