Atkins sucks.
My dad lost a lot of weight on Atkins, but now he has to take medicine for high blood pressure and high cholesterol. Don't do that to yourself.
Any diet that forbids some kind of food is just wrong. Your body needs carbs. Not white sugar, white pasta, rice, bread and such, but good carbs.

Not sure - let me look it up.

Sounds to me like they are digestible sugars.

The indigestible sugars you can have are lactulose and sorbitol

Ooooh - sorbitol is a sugar alcohol

Have a look at the wiki page. Some are essentially Low carb and one mentioned there is absorbed normally and would be a no-no.
