they refuse to believe anything that hasnt been fed to them via religious doctrine. if they truly believed in an all knowing all forgiving god than they might be able to fathom that a god that great would be beyond the offenses we as mortal man could commit.

He also gave us instructions on what would be BAD decisions.

He sets some limits, lets examine sex, for example.

Have sex with one person, of the opposite sex, and make a commitment to them first. How hard is that?

Let's view the consequences of making a different decision:
1. STD's
2. unwanted pregnancies
3. the objectification of women
4. Abuse of women
5. If everyone chose homosexuality, the extinction of the human race.

These are NATURAL consequences. God warned us that there would be consequences, but we decided to see what they were. Who's smarter? God for warning us? Or us for not trusting God's wisdom?

I agree, God gave us free will - but not all the time is our free will in line with the will of God. So, if we decide according to our will, we have to check if that does not break any of the commandments of God.

Our freewill can and in most cases does contradict and go against what God requires!

lets look at an example here....

a 15 year old is told by his parents that he is not "allowed" to be out past 9:00 PM. now, when this boy stays out all night long do you think his parents "approve"?

of course not. but because the boy could physically get out of the house and stay out, he did.
furthermore, because God gives us the ability to make our own decisions, we can choose to listen to him or not.

does God approve of you?

God gives you the freedom to chose right or wrong, if you chose wrong he does not approve how is that hard to understand?
