Ok, I know that salmon is really good for people to eat, I just love it! But are there any other good-for-you fish that I should consider trying? I mean, good-for-you as in it's got all those great omega-3s, tastes good, but isn't fried in any way, something I can grill, bake, or broil. Recipes would greatly be appreciated to accompany your suggestions. Thank you all in advance!

all fish is good for you..you can get ocean perch and cod or pollack which are not expensive........i prefer to have nice thick filets or thick steaks as there are more things that you can do with them as grilling and broiling.......fish does not take long to cook so the thick filets or the thick steaks will have less a chance of drying out when prepared....i like to bake a whole fish and stuffed with rice dressing......they stay nice and moist during baking and you can have a nice table presentation....but any fish is good for you as long as you have the pocket book for it...some fish is very costly especially if you live in the n midwest...but then you can catch fresh fish such as walleye which is a delicious tasting fish and also bakes up well whole...

d957jazz is right, all fish is good for you. Halibut, tapia, trout, red snapper are some of my favorites. If you are a fisherman or have access to one, walleye, sauger, pike, catfish, and perch are really tasty. Preparing, I use the K.I.S.S method (Keep It Simple Silly). Baked or fried in butter, lemon pepper. Only takes a few minutes. If you are bored try this:

Monterey Halibut

4 Halibut steaks
shreaded monterey cheese
lemon
Black pepper
tomatoes
onion
fresh cillantro

Arrange the halibut in a baking pan, put a little butter under them for lube. :)
pepper them
squeeze some lemon over them
bake for 5 mins 450 degrees
put cheese on them bake until cheese melts and barely starts to brown at edges.
Take pan out and spoon Pico de Gallo on them.

Pico de Gallo
Diced tomatoes (Fresh ones please, leave the caned ones in the pantry)
Diced onion
Chopped cillantro, about a table spoon, but to taste is ok too
Lemon juice, about 3 lemons worth
mix together and let sit in fridge until you need it. Serve with dinner as a garnish

All fish is good for you, and it can be cooked by nearly any method you can name - grilled, broiled, fried, poached, baked, etc. No matter what method you use, the rule is to cook it for 10 minutes per inch of thickness. It should be moist and flaky, not dry and hard. Fish is very delicate, don't overcook it.

Try tuna steaks or swordfish steaks. Easy to do and doesn't take long.

Whitefish. You can even steam it and it'll still taste as good.

Try orange-ginger marinated whitefish or creamy baked whitefish.
