Hi,I am an Asian boy. The girl(white)'s my sister's friend and she gave me a dum love letter last year saying 'I always wanted to kiss a boy. I'd like to give you a kiss.' and 'Forgive me if I embarrassed you!' When I got that 'love' card, I was so fricked out! Although I know that American style of love is kind of progressive when compared to my culture's conservatism, I could never get what made her 'love' me since we had known each other only for a few weeks. Of course I rejected that creepy thing. Later I found out that she was a manga fanatic, and I presumed that she was addicted to its unusal and dirty way of love. That also explained why she 'loved' me, an Asian, and even asked my sister to introduce her some Asian boys. And this year, I'm having a same class with her and she sits front of me. And this girl's always look at me, her face blushed! Even my friends around me talk about that stuff and that insults me! What should I do? Ignore or say something to that dreamer?Plz help.

candy// I'm glad to hear that you liked my beliefs. Well, I'm a Korean and I am quite conservative especially when it comes to dating and having a girl friend. My American friends say that I'm too serious, and sometimes laugh at it but how would I be not serious when I'm having a love relationship with a woman? I just hate to see those people who love each other passionately for a while and break up as if nothing had happened. there are some cool American values such as individualism, but there are some of my values that I really want them to recognize, not if to learn.

Don't be racist.
Don't stereotype.

Almost everyone has a different point of view. Just because you're Asian and look different from her, it doesn't mean you're truly different unless you believe you are.

In your case I think she is infatuated with you. I wouldn't be insulted if I were in your place. I'd be glad that someone is attracted to me and or my culture.

I can't exactly say what kind of girl she is, because I don't know how she thinks. It does pretty much appear to me that she has a shallow likeness for you, though. Shallow because you said and think she likes you since you're an Asian, and she is an anime addict, which originated in Asia.

I wouldn't start 'loving' her back if I were you, but I would communicate. Talk to her, don't ignore her. It only makes you feel worse and you're just givin her a hard time. She may even be thinking you're playing 'hard to get.'

I personally think regret is worse than fear, and if one day she starts liking another guy, you'd probably regret being so closed off to her.

Who cares what your friends think? If they talk about you in a bad way, they're not worth it.

Quit taking her liking you as something negative, it's not. You should be positive about it cus she actually LIKES you, not hate you. Would you rather she dislike and ignore you instead? What do you think it would be like if YOU were in HER place?

It's a case of culture clash. In our culture that is acceptable, in yours it is not. I can't say that in this instance my culture is right. This girl doesn't love you, she thinks your attractive. That is sometimes mistaken for 'love' by teen girls in our culture. You have strong beliefs and I admire you for them. Although you two are very different in some aspects, you are both young people with feelings and you wouldn't to be laughed at or made fun of`either. Tell her that you aren't interested in her. As far as being insulted, don't be. It is considered a compliment to be told you are liked /loved by a girl in our culture. Remember part of being an American even an Asian American is tolerance. You don't have to agree with her or be like her but you do have to accept that she is who she is and leave it at that. Good Luck

I think she is one of those girls who loves the asian culture. I've met some girls who are like the one you described and they usually read manga, watch anime, and try and speak japanese or any other asian language. She says she loves you but that's pretty normal because if a girl tells you she loves you shortly after she's met you it pretty much means she's attracted to you. I don't think there's anything you can do because she just likes asian guys and you just happen to be an asian guy. You can try telling her that she's a nice girl but you don't want to date her.

Dear Child, simply ignore this girl and instead of feeling ashamed , let her feel insulted.Nobody should be given liberty to behave like this . Concentrate on your studies and also take lightly what your friends say or think .It is a temporary phase. That girl will divert her attention sooner or later once she realizes that you are not interested in such kind of relationship.

You should tell your sister's friend how you feel about her to make her understand. Tell her you just want to be friends and take the relationship slow.
