I can not cite a website, but if you are talking about sealing up drums of recovered hazardous materials and sealing up the drums, it will depend on the chemical nature of the waste you are recovering.

We just did a job recovering buried mercaptan containers. Mercaptan is the liquid injected into natural gas to give it the smell so it can be readily detected.

Recovered mercaptan was stored in 18 guage 55 gallon open top drums. However, because it atomizes easily, it will escape through any opening. So, all lids and caps on the drum were sealed with a good 25 year silicone available from any hardware store.
