Well Matt those are both really nice guns I have shot them both. I had the same question as you which one ? If you could be a little more specific of what you want the gun for such as is it because they will both shoot the 3 1/2 inch mags. Is price a problem? I wanted a good 3 1/2 inch mag. and was told the SBE2 was the ticket. However to me just my own opinion it feels barrel lite and I dont shoot a gun that feels this way very well also I like the extrema's K.O. recoil reduction system. IT WORKS. Like I said you need to include more detail about your use for the gun if you want good answers about your decision

I have an Extrema 2, I chose it over the SBE2 because I didn't trust the long term durability of the recoil absorbing stock and it just didn't feel right to me. I have never had any sort of failure in the two years I've been using it. At my friends 40th birthday shoot it was the favorite gun between the collections that five of us brought. Not scientific, but nice to know.
The gas system on the Extrema 2 is very easy to get to and clean, not that it requires much cleaning.

I do not like gas guns like the beretta cleaning is an issue if you get crud any thing in it the piston can fail to cycle and they are just a pain to maintain. I have owned 2 sbe and never had any problems with them they are great. If you plan on doing a lot or duck hunting or goose but if your not doing much waterfowling I wold look at one of the other binelli models and save money for shells.

All of the many Berettas of various types I have owned are great guns. Most are pistols. I have fired the shotguns you mention, but not often. I rarely use them. I hunt with rifles and pistols mostly.

The Beretta is favored by those who shoot a lot of shells in a day's time. The choice is tough to make but it is yours.
