I don't know if it happens to everyone but I've seen it a few times so I'm wondering why it happens.

A hard guess of mine is, the body is unable to digest any food at that moment and does some kind of a "hard reset" (if you know computer terminology, you know what I mean :P).

My doctor friend says that the airway can be blocked which causes fainting (and can occur after fainting). As with choking, the unblocked airway causes a strong gag reflex enough to trigger a vomit episode.
That is why choking scenes in movies/TV are so phoney....if you heimlich someone successfully...get a large bowl immediately or the carpet is going to hate you.

"body is unable to digest any food at that moment".......

What if they hadn't eaten for 3 days? Dry heaves?

Anyway, the problem ("if you know computer terminology") could possibly be in the software. Perhaps when the person gains consciousness, they remember a face and rather than do a "hard reset" they are trying to uninstall.

Ive never seen it, and it doesn't happen to me, though i do like fainting. i think it depends on why they fainted in the first place - i can sometimes be really nauseous before fainting, and thus would understand why i would want to upchuck when i returned to life
