Why can't I just do a full upper body workout? I have been doing this for quite a while? Do I really need to target specific muscles every workout and rest them for a week?

No splits. Brace yourself and lift with your legs and back. straight.

so what, u want to tell me u re doung the whole body workout once a week and then just sit at home doing nothing? for the whole week? well, this is very bad for health in that case. and u have to split cos u have to do minimum 3 exercises per each muscle group. 3 exercises for back, 3 for chest, 3 or more for legs and so on. so don't tell me there is any human being who can do like14 exercises 4 sets in each during one day. u will die there. and if u do less exercises butr everyday your muscles can't recouperate, which means grow. well, anyway, i can't believe i am wasting my time writing it. read any magazine, they will tell u that better. i like ironmagazine.com
