Some Muslim countries (like Jordan) have adopted the unified adhan in major cities, i.e the adhan is broadcast and heard from all mosques within the same city at the same time. What this entails is that mosque imams are not able to perform the adhan themselves. This entails two things:
- the mosque imams do not get the reward for performing the adhan,
- second, the faithful at each mosque do not get to identify with a particular imam at their local mosque.
Should the unified adhan be adopted or should we go back to conventional adhan?
