Some Muslim countries (like Jordan) have adopted the unified adhan in major cities, i.e the adhan is broadcast and heard from all mosques within the same city at the same time. What this entails is that mosque imams are not able to perform the adhan themselves. This entails two things:

- the mosque imams do not get the reward for performing the adhan,

- second, the faithful at each mosque do not get to identify with a particular imam at their local mosque.

Should the unified adhan be adopted or should we go back to conventional adhan?

yea i read abt it in the newspapar , i prefer the conventional way coz callin 4 prayer is a VERY virtuos deed.well iv heard there are religious texts that prove that banning someone from announcing the adhan is forbidden. i agree tht the muezzin's voice is drowned by howls and screeches of some of the other less polished calls coming from the loudspeakers of mosques but they cud hve done sumthin else perhaps. neways i dun think they r gonna change nethin now since the project has cost them 680,000 Egyptian pounds (119,000 dollars, 91,000 euros) also the ministry spokesperson said tht the original muezzins wont be fired. he said they cud teach the Holy Quran, they can carry out administrative tasks at their mosques etc.

Conventinal is much better, although time schedules for the Adhan should be adopted by the mosques of each city according to time zones.. There's no time difference in one city and you can find a variulance of the Adhan time. Also the very loud Microphones must be reduced as it offends ill, sleep, babies and other people. The Imam performing the Adhan must have a nice voice, calm and tender.

Conventional is much better.

Maybe all the Imams can be told to perform the Adhan at the same time.

Even normally the difference, if any, is just a few minutes.

i like the conventional adhan.
but i do hope that something is done about ppl with bad voices doing the adhan. it's just not fun to hear a kid going through puberty doing it.

I think we should keep it as it has been for 1400 years.

Do it as they did it in the beginning. Keep the tradition alive.
