Well I am sorry to say that I haven't got first-hand experience with this problem, but I DO know how to calm down your belly. Get some bitters (I believe it's called Agnosta Bitters) and take 3-4 drop and mix it with 1/2 cup gingerale or sprite. Drink it down a wait about 5 minutes. This trick has been around for a LONG time and is an old bartenders trick. My brother tried this when he had a bad bout and he felt relief in about seven minutes. BTW... Agnosta bitters is non-alcoholic and you should be able to find it at any grocery store. I promise relief for your tummy!

A good doctor would advise you that almost 50% of patients with IBS get worse on high fibre diets. Interestingly this group feel better on low fibre diets, but for a number of reasons there are not considered a good idea,On paper Colpermin, high dose peppermint oil is licenced to help. In my view it seldom does and just gives the patient indigestion.
Antispasmodics like mebeverine often help the cramp, but not the annoying fluctuating bowel habit.
The only drug I have found consistently helpful is amitriptylline in low dose 10-25mgs at night is usually sufficient. Once upon a time this drug was used as an antidepressant, now it's main use is as an atypical pain killer, especially good in neuralgia. In IBS it works as a smooth muscle relaxant.

Don't drink sodas or milk and don't eat much salt. Also get some aloe vera juice at Health Food store to drink or mix with juice. Don't go on strict diet while sick or you'll never lose weight. You need to get well before your metabolism will work properly. Pay for a session with a personal trainer at your gym, one who has studied proper nutrition for weight loss. Your caloric decrease should come from exercise first, then a proper diet of about 1500 calories per day. Limit sweets and bad carbs. Also take cod-liver oil daily (in capsules). Most important- "see" yourself as getting thinner, healthier & happier- more & more every day. "Visions of faith" are those which have already come to pass!

It isn't what you are eating, it is what you are eating it with:
Melons digest very quickly and should be eaten on their own.
Other fruits digest almost as quickly and the same applies but don't mix with mellon.
any form of Legume should never be eaten with Meat
Meat (Beef, Lamb, Chicken and fish) can be eaten with Rice OR potato NOT both
Dairy products should be eaten on their own.
Space the different types of food groups at least half an hour apart.
e.g. wake up eat melon for breakfast go for a shower and get ready for work, then finsih your breakfast with toast and protein washed down with coffee and not OJ.
Drink lots of water

I suffered with IBS for years, the pain sometimes reducing me to tears. My Doctor prescribed colefac ( not sure of spelling) tablets. Taken an hour before eating, they relax the muscles that go into spasm when you do eat. However, I do seem to have grown out of it over the last few years.

Could be a food intollerance. Go and consult a qualified nutritionist for proper advice and tests to see what foods cause you to feel bloated. My mum found that wheat caused her to have symptoms similar to those you describe.
However I do recommend seeing a qualified nutritionist to help you and find the real issues behind your symptoms.

Most people who suffer from bloatedness after eating are usually fast eaters and gulp air while eating. One Solution is to eat slowly. Another is to see a doctor. You could contact me for further advice.

A large percentage of people who are diagnosed as having IBS are actually suffering from food sensitivities so thats your first step - get a test. Also, it may also be worth getting your doctor to test you for coeliac disease.
