Last January I was diagnosed with a serious heart related malfunction. I was admitted to the hospital and they did what they do and all is well. I am almost 100% recovered. But I am torn between going back to work or go back to school and get anouther degree that is better suited for me.

Try this:
Imagine yourself going back to work. Just see yourself there, doing the things you do at work, seeing the people at work, hearing the sounds you're already familiar with. Take note of your energy while you're imagining going back to work.
Now get up from your chair, walk around a few steps, shake your head, to clear these 'work' images.
Now sit back on the chair.
Imagine yourself going to school. What kind of classes would you take?
How will you pull off the tuition etc.?
Imagine the kinds of people you're likely to meet in school.
Spend a little time in this 'movie'.
Take your "pulse".
Which one felt better?
Which one gave you more energy?
That's your decision-maker.

I'd go back to school if able. Knowledge and degrees are always useful.

If it's possible go to school, knowledge is worth more than a paycheck.
