There are lots of food courts and small restaurants etc in Shanghai. Unfortunately, because of the nature of their business being small, a lot of them are not YET high tech and go on-line to publish their business. Most of them rely of passer by for business.

If you ever go to Shanghai, you cannot pass 10 meters without someone selling you food.

I've been to Shanghai several times and can't say that I've seen any US-style "food courts" to speak of. There are dozens of restaurants on every block that cater to every taste, however. There's a large mall near the Pearl TV tower; fully half of the shops seem to be restaurants but I didn't see any food courts.
