I'm in engineering. I study constantly, all the time. I don't study only just before exams, because I fail when I do that. You have to constantly remind yourself of what you have learned. Read a chapter everyday, stay ahead on your school work and homework. My personal way to do it is by reading a chapter each day of each of the courses I am taking e.g. 1 chapter of my digital circuit book, 1 chapter of my physics book, 1 chapter of my signal processing book. Then I do 5 problems from each of those chapters. This usually takes me about 2 and a half hours to 4 hours and with 2 hours doing homework each night, I still get plenty of sleep and I stay up to date with my schoolwork. I love engineering but you have to read hard and understand to pass. It's not like history or music where all you have to do is memorize things that already exist. Engineering is about understanding. Good luck with your studies.

You need to like math (you really do and I mean it).
You need to be (or you need to want to be) that kind of person that use to think out of the box.
You need to see things in a simple way, everything can be calulated/meausured/weighted/etc.)

You need to understand / realize that there are things that are not (only in math), such as: there is nothing static, ever single thing is in movement, there is nothing empty, everything has something, there is nothing that has no friction, everything is hiting something somewhere, there is no such thing as silence, there is no such thing as completely isolated.

And if you are on the way, then the very best way to study for a math /physics /chemist (or anything like that) exam is to teach.
Yes you did read well, teach, ge together all your colleagues and teach them the night before the exam. If you are not in a position where you can teach, then anyways get with your mates and stand up and try to solve problems with YOUR lead.

Good luck!
