im exercising frm 3 and more years widout any trainer, how to knw that its not harming me

Pain and more pain. Progress is usually slow after the first minor improvement, so it is not a good indicator. Pain is a good indicator. I am not talking about "i've just started working out and I am sore" pain. I mean real, "hey, that bone was never like that before" pain.
