Almost daily I help other people. Ether I 'm giving them jump for a dead battery or putting gas in their car...Buying a homeless person something to eat or taking them on a tour of the Mission Inn. Maybe I should seek help to fix this...any thoughts?

Jesus wouldn't post his charitable accomplishments on Y!A. Don't stop, just don't brag about it.

You are doing what Jesus would have done, although the world sees this kindness as a weakness. If you have prayed for Jesus to come into your heart and are helping others this way, then you don't need help to fix anything. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. If you don't have Jesus in your heart, then these good works you are doing daily are not enough. Something is needing to be fixed and that is what you need to do. Ask Jesus into your heart. " For it is by grace you are saved, not of works, lest any man should boast." Ephesians 2:5

Jesus would tell you to not tell anyone that you do this. That in doing so you ask for reconition from hyprocrites and are in temptation of becoming like the hyprocrite.

If no one ever knows your name, and does not even know you do this, and do not even speak of it to your close friend, but only to God alone , This is the path of Truth.

Light is given when you do without thanks. If you give a smile to those who need one. Or laugh with those who won t . Or shake hands with those who won t go to church , and eat dinner with those whom would even burn a bible .

This is what he would say to do.

That by all you have already done, you have given money from your pocket, But your pocket still has loads of money. Give Everything You have. And more. With no fear of tommorrow.

For when you run out of money, you have left to spend the wealth of God. Which will then Truely show the Light of Love to those whom are in the dark.

Without money, you have but your spirit to rely on.

Offering to walk with someone whom is angery or someone who hates people.

Or sleeping in the cold street With the homeless and building a fire with them for a night, while telling a good story.

This is the money of God. That fills the hearts of the hungery.

And causes them to Learn how to tapp into this wealth which to spread themselves.

I tell you this and more, Jesus would say to you.

If you are just doing it in the flesh and not the Spirit then you might feel like you are doing it for nothing. But if you are doing it in the Spirit, and in faith then you are doing it according to God's purpose. Maybe you just need to find out the purpose of your acts of kindness, whether it's to serve God or for your own pride. Still, it never hurts to help others if your priorities are in line. Take care, blessings.

Nothing to fix. Doing good acts and 'getting away with them' is much better than doing destructive acts and 'getting away with them'. You show a lot of love...and in each person you help, you also help Jesus. The old parable..."in each of these you turned away, you also turned me away" applies here.

Loving service is it's own reward

Why would you want to "fix" it? It sounds to me as though you are doing fine. There is nothing wrong with taking pleasure in helping make someone else's day. Incidentally, this has nothing whatever to do with religion -- it is just common sense.

If it ain't broke-don't fix it. Read the story of the Good Samaritan in the Bible. God knows the good you are doing even if other people don't. Keep up the good work.

Let your light shine before men so that you may Glorify your Father in heaven.
Jesus said Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of my brethren, ye have done it unto me. This is how life was meant to be.

Dude. Consider the alternative. For every one like you, how many are there that don't give a crap or even worse, disparage other people? Don't change.
