It actually depends on who you turn it in too....If you call up your local Sheriffs Office or Police Department and say, "there is someone growing dope at 123 Maryjane Ln." Then they will not have a clue who made the call....You will have to get a little involved. Just let them know that you are not wanting the person that is growing the stuff to know that it was you. Plus, if they try to obtain a search warrant for the property, your name will be on the search warrant. I was a Narcotics Detective for 8 years and there were many times that we had people call up and turn someone in. I would generally meet with that person and get a look at them and the situation before my guys did anything.

good way to get the crap kicked out of ya. i don't smoke pot and i don't rat people out who does. no worse than drinking booze. i grew up in the 70's and 80's baked a few brain cells back then myself. personally i say don't do it, but after 911 attacks our civil liberty's went down the crapper and we are probably being monitored right now. just kidding, but who knows. i say don't do it. if your afraid he's going to busted ask him if he could grow it somewhere else

If you turn the person in for growing it then you are safe from jail time but this person will know that in a drug bust everyone goes to jail and when he/she see`s you are not going to jail then it will be so ovious that you snitched. Also you can be foorced to go to court and testify about the person.Becareful.

Of course! You'd be in trouble with the person whose pot you turned in.

I'm not sure you gave enough info.
Why do you want to turn them in all of a sudden for one?
Living there can cause you to have charges - especially if the place is in YOUR name.

Not if you are the one to turn him in. If the drugs are found in the house, then they will charge both of you

Not if you are the one reporting it. Just let them know......."hey i dont want to get caught up in this persons bad choices, so I want to report it before he gets caught and I get in trouble."

you are an accessory and can be prosecuted. how much time you get for the crime depends on the skills of your attorney and your prior convictions.

I don't think so, but you would have to prove it was his, because he can easily say it was yours. and why would you do that to that person.
