Just because you may not believe you don't have to react so immaturely. Some people are desperate for answers and are really seeking.

This gives me a worse impression of non-believers than the ignorant thoughts I had of them before. I hate to generalize because I know that all of you are not alike. I guess one bad apple can spoil the bunch. Good bless you all... signing off!

Don't get discouraged.
If you are insulted because of the Name of Christ, you are blessed, for the Spirit of glory and of God rest on you. (1 Peter 4:14)
If you suffer as a christian, do not be ashamed, but praise God that you bear that name. (1 Peter 4:16)
That's exactly what unbelievers want, to discourage us.
You have to realize they are blinded. They don't see what we see.
That's why we should keep them in our prayers
so they can sing the song we sing.
"AMAZING GRACE"

To all of the unbelievers out there, this is how it goes.

Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound,
that saved a wretch like me...
I once was lost , but now I'm found
was blind, but now I see.

T'was Grace that taught
My heart to fear
And Grace, my fear relieved.
How precious did that Grace appear...
The hour I first believed.

Through many dangers, toils and snares...
We've already come
Twas Grace that brought us safe thus far...
And Grace will lead us home.

The Lord has promised good to me...
His word my hope secures.
He will my shield and portion be...
As long as life endures.

When we've been here a thousand years...
Bright shining as the sun.
We've no less days to sing God's praise...
Than when we've first begun.

Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me...
I once was lost, but now I'm found.
Was blind, but now I see.

Happy 2 Be, you raise a very good point. I am guilty, myself sometimes, of snapping at questions posed by believers. But it is only when they have strayed from their belief system and into science, speaking about things they clearly know nothing about. And with few exceptions, it's because the questioner wasn't really trying to get information, but had some thinly-disguised (or obvious) agenda, was being arrogant or holier-than-thou, or was trying to spread misinformation -- which I find intolerable.

I fully respect each individual's right to believe what they want. I do not judge a person for that, alone. I am much more calm with religious folk who have reasonable questions, such as yourself. (Many of my loved ones are quite religious.)

By the same token, I don't answer many of those questions because although I was raised Catholic, I don't know much about the Bible, and it's just not where my heart is.

I admire those people who are, as you say, desperately seeking answers -- as long as they know how to separate speculation, belief, opinion, and hearsay from fact, knowledge, proof and truth.

My most treasured source for anything *knowable* is science. But unfortunately (or perhaps fortunately, for some) that leaves out God. Despite what many believers say, they don't *know* about God any more than we agnostics do. But I respect their beliefs. Nor do atheists *know* God doesn't exist; I'm sorry. But I respect their beliefs, too.

Keep on searching for truth, and asking questions. When they're presented so reasonably, the rude or ridiculous answers you will still get must be attributed not to you, but to their own insecurities or frailties. Good luck.

I received what I believe about God by Gods grace, not what others believe since what others believe could be considered hearsay. Thats the falicy of imagining that Testamonials are supposed to be Christian when all they are is a group theraphy trick, brought to us by the biggest trickster. Let God speak to you by how you help others, not by how others are led to confess.

Ask any questions you like even schizoid ones but you should ask a question....or find another place . We are all equally ignorant and smart in the eyes of god.

There's a minority here who think you are preaching as soon as you mention God. You just have to get used to it.

Coming onto R&S is a preparation for bombardment, you ought to expect to hear unwanted opinions though, this is religion.

Happy: Reminds me of Jesus Christ's admonishment to warn us about offending "one of these little ones" - the "mill stone" award - perhaps ?
