We've been dating for almost two years, and still have a great time when we're together. Yet, I'm 19 and she just turned 18, I went to college for a semester, it tore her apart that i was gone, but I decided that college wasn't right for me so I left and am home working. Now i work near 40 hours a week mainly at night. We don't see eachother as often because she is still in high school and its driving her mad that we can't talk or see eachother as much as we used to because at college i could at least talk. She wants me to ask for less hours which is out of the question because i love my job. We're going to different colleges in the fall. I'm incredibly confused and need all the advice i can get.

If she wont let you live your life, shes being too needy. Selfish is more like it. If she really loved you, shed understand whats best for you. Thats the truth.

Only you can decide what too needy is to you. We can't help wtih that. The fact that you ask though leads me to believe that you see a problem in this relationship you do not want to work on.

I would say that you and she are living in different 'worlds' at the moment. You have taken on the adult lifestyle where work is more important than nearly anything else in your life and she is stuck in highschool where relationships and 'love' are the most important. Knowing that this is her personality type, you have to wonder as well if she would be able to complete college because it means being away from her relationships and forming new ones. Sometimes, this type of person is not able to move on, even temporarily, from the old relationships at home and establish new ones.
No matter what you decide to do, be honest with her about the reasons why this is an issue for you. Perhaps it will cause her to look at what she deems most important and do a priority/reality check.

Good luck, HTH

You simply have to get that college education. With it comes the good job so you can support a wife and kids eventually. She seems a bit too needy if she wants you to reduce your hours. You already skipped a semester. Get the degree. If you two are truly committed, it will work out, but to be frank, the odds are way against it. Anyways, you shouldn't be committing to any girl until you have finished your education and have a few years of work under your belt. Believe me, you will be a different person and she will also be a different person by then. Only then can you two make the decision to continue, but as for now, too early.

She is in high school and what's cooler that have a grown up boyfriend with a real job, but it's no good if she can't show you off. If you really want to make it work, make a little more time for her to show you off and spend time with you. But if you're truly going in different directions including different colleges you might as well end it. No need to be a bad relationship. I'm sure there is a girl out there whose on the same schedule as you and would enjoy hanging out with you this summer. Do the rebound thing all summer and enjoy the company of a lot of girls (just be safe).

Dude you're young once! Be safe, and have FUN!

You're at different stages in your life right now, maybe you can try explaining that to her. Things are different than they used to be, your life has changed drastically from when you were in highschool while hers hasn't, so she's having a hard time realizing that your life is alot different and priorities have shifted, including ya'lls relationship.

If she absolutely can't understand that, consider taking a break, her life is about to change a lot too when she goes to college and she may have different priorties then. So everything will have to shift yet again.

If its really meant to be it will be.

She's needy and unrealistic. You have a job and your own life. While yes, I'm sure she's important to you, she needs to realize that she is not the only important thing in your life. It's all about a healthy balance. If she can't understand that then she has some maturing to do and you have a decision to make.

I don't think she is needy ,she probably misses you.But for her to ask you for less hours at a job you love is really stupid of her.if you feel like you need some time apart this upcoming fall when you guys go to different collages ...the you need to go to her and tell her the truth.tell her how you feel..........it's the only way to fix things.Don't worry if its meant to be with her you'll be together again.

To the mature world, these behaviours are impulsive and not real love. I suggest you should do what you need to do for your career and let the fate takes it path. Personally, i dun believe in young age love and dun let it spoilt your future.

Yes, she is immature. I'm glad you're making choices for yourself. Tell her she has to too. How there are no broken hearts.
