I don't know 'cause I've never faced that sort of persecution. I've wondered this myself....if I had to risk life and limb to go to church would I go? I'd like to say YES but I really can't be sure until it happens. My ancestors were Quakers and we have court records from Salem Mass. where they were jailed and/or finned over and over and over for missing public worship. They had their own meeting and didn't believe in the public worship of the church of England. And I wonder, if I knew I'd be put in jail for a year for missing public worship would I still go to my church and not to the public church? And then, my ancestors WALKED all the way from Mass. to NY to set up a settlement where they could worship God their own way. Would I do that? Would I be willing to walk that far just to have freedom of religion? I don't know.....

It would be difficult to face death in that way, but my faith in God is strong and I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that God is real. Yes, I would give up my life for Christ. As it is, I am persecuted for my faith all the time, and I count that as a blessing. Nobody wants to die really, but if I had to choose between renouncing my faith in Christ or having to die because I am a Christian, then I would choose death any day. This life is temporary. Eternity is forever. If we deny Christ, He will deny us to God.

Ah, the opposite of the columbine "deny christ or die" rumor.

I guess I'd choose death, not because there's anything about accepting christianity that would harm my non existant soul, but because in a society where I have to convert in order to live, I'd probably not last long, and I'd might as well get the inevitable over with sooner rather than later.

If you call yourself a Christian you had better be willing to lay down you life for this belief. If not then you have some soul searching to do.

A lot of people call themselves Christians, but they use a very loose definition of the word. Being a Christin is all about giving up you life and every part of it to Christ.

You have to do nothing physically for proving your credentials to Christ. All work is only mental and by heart.

Dieing is not some thing like a feat. We in any case are in a perishable body.

We should live as long as possible, so that we have more time for Christ in this human body.

Philippians 1:21- 22 I WILL SAY THIS TO EVIL

21For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain. 22If I am to go on living in the body, this will mean fruitful labor for me. Yet what shall I choose? I do not know!

For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain.
(Philippians 1: 21)

Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
(Hebrews 12:2)

Jesus knew the glory that awaited Him after He conquered death on the cross.
We will receive the same glory when we enter into His Kingdom.

I often thought what I would do if I were ever put in a situation like that, and my hope and strength lies in when Stephen was about to get stoned to death.

But Stephen, full of the Holy Spirit, looked up to heaven and saw the glory of God, and Jesus STANDING at the right hand of God. Look he said, I see heaven open and the Son of Man STANDING at the right hand of God. (Acts 7: 55-56

If you notice all other scriptures say Jesus is seated at the right hand of God.
Here He is Standing to welcome Stephen home.

I believe He is Standing to welcome all of us home.
That's what gives me courage.

I'm a Christian, I'd never deny it even on pain of death.

For the record - there will come a time when Christians will be hauled on the "carpet" to stake his or her claim to "die" for the cause !
