hey im going through the same kind of issue at the moment... i have been finding that eating lots or pasta and nuts... things that are high in proteins and carbs is really helpful i also found this protein powder that tastes great and has been working really well so far its called Sport Pharma Gainer... its packed with lots of everything! add this to a daily work out... even if its just going for a hard run will defiantly help!

good luck!

Although I have the opposite problem, I did come across a lot of information about "hard gainers" such as yourself when reading up on body building. What I discovered was that it is important for someone who is trying to bulk up to use a good whey protein drink and to time their consumption approximately 30 minutes following a heavy weight work out (using a weight where you can only do about 10 reps). Also, they recommended changing up the routine so your body doesn't adjust to it. Also, contrary to conventional wisdom, the recommendation is to allow the body 2-3 days following a workout to allow the "healing" process to repair the micro tears in the muscle fiber, which in turn is where the muscle gains in size (from the repair of these tears).

Feel free to email me if you would like any more information.

I'd suggest lifting some weights. Try to drink 2 protein shakes a day, then do some upper body workouts. Bench press, incline bench, chest flies, and military press are usually the most popular for starters. Push-ups will work out your upper body too. Just make sure that you do them right. Do some exercises for your back too, like lat pulldowns and seated rows. Good luck getting more upper body mass!

Maybe try what i used, I got something called formula one shake and personalised protein powder and took them with each meal three times a day. I gained 17 pounds in the first three months and 19 in the next three. The weight I put on was nice and evenly spread, plus it was all lean muscle so I looked even better than I imagined. try www.myhealthabcmall.com and you can find them on there, they work so well and your immune system will be better as a result. I haven't had a single bout of flu or anything in over six months. Good luck.

your weight is fine. be glad that u r skinny. exercise, don't overeat (u said u eat A LOT) have a healthy diet, and don't take any shakes because they are NASTY. But if that is ur last option, (u poor person) then there is this great store called GNC that will sell you all of these healthy, non steroid products that will help you gain muscle (not fat) and be healthy. Also, get a membership with a gym, and maybe the instructor can help set u up with a diet plan.

Remember, GNC.

High protein diet, beef, with pasta's, potatoes, etc. Add some Ensure drinks daily, high protein shakes at least three times a day if you dont like the Ensure. It helped a friend of mine put on 15lbs in a month. If no results please go see a doctor there maybe something internal wrong.

this is probably cliche, but i suggest excersisng. go out to the gym for a workout, go to a personal trainer and tell them that you want to gain. they will help you to gain more muscle, and your weight will increase. you wont get buff, but you definately wont become super fat. hope this helps. also, try indiaparenting.com and go to beauty and grooming. they have quite a bit on gaining weight. here is the link to the page of the weight. http://www.indiaparenting.com/beauty/article.cgi?art_id=44&sec_id=8
