My house is 2 story and has 16 steps stair. Can i actually climb up and down in it to perform a mile run? If so how long or times should i do climbing up and down?

I would get one of those little pedometers that counts your steps to tell you when you have reached a mile. Running up and down the steps could substitute for a mile run if you are getting your heart rate to a cardio level.

Don't worry about how many stairs are in a mile, etc. Just time yourself to run up and down for about 20 minutes.

I found these wonderful articles, seems stair climbing is better than running.

I think you'd be better off finding some bleachers to run. Running up and down your home stairs is going to be tough on the stairs and make a lot of noise.

Or you could get one of those stationary stair climber things that keep track of your minutes, distance, speed and calories burned.
