i've got a lot of small volcano shaped acne (they're little bumps with a huge hole in the middle) all over my face and they bother me so much.

I tend to squeeze them and everytime I do, these oily/hardish/round/(booger like) things come up (they're not the liquidy pus like substance when u just pop a big pimple)

I'm just wondering, what are these things? Is it a good idea to squeeze them out or just let it be? Currently I'm using various skin products for my acne. Are the products causing these things? Is it possible to get rid of these volcano acne? I heard they are considered scars, is this true?

Well, for starters, it sounds like your "various skin products" may be the problem. You need to make sure that they're (preferably) all the same brand and have the same ingredients to fight acne (i.e. if one medicine has benzoyl peroxide, dont use another one that uses salicylic acid). Also, don't wash your face excessively. Only once or twice a day for a short amount of time.

It sounds like your acne is pretty bad, so I would suggest seeing your regular family doctor, or even going to straight to a dermatologist to get a prescription.

Until then, wash once a day, and it's best not to pop your "volcano zits" either. Popping them can actually push the bacteria further into your skin, thereby making your acne even worse than it already is.

Right now my skin is perfectly clear, for the first time in 3 years. It's been about 9 weeks and all my acne is gone. It is such a great feeling to wake up with clear skin.

They sound like very large blackheads. If the stuff coming out of them is hard and they aren't infected, it's fine to squeeze them. In fact if you don't squeeze them they won't come out! Just squeeze them very gently, try not to poke your nails or anything into the skin that leaves a red mark, so as not to cause additional skin damage over a long period of doing this. There are products that supposedly help blackheads, but they don't really work. The exception might be this prescription for acne called [I forget, I'll look it up in a second] that decreases the amount of oil your face actually produces.

[Edit: That drug is called Accutane... it reduces the production of sebum so theoretically might reduce the appearance of large blackheads. You'd have to ask a doctor about that one!]

They are scars. But they have not yet healed totally theta is whywhen you squeeze something come out. That is the dead matter inside. you need to use a good acne treatment such as
Retinoids to clear them up.

I wish I could help you, buddy. I would suggest seeing a dermatologist as only they can diagnose and suggest apropriate remedies. I would in the meantime refrain from squeezing them as I'm pretty sure they will only augment your condition. That stuff that comes out of the top is probaly puss or bacteria. Good luck to you sir.
