Hey I feel your question cause I'm go trough to same thing sometimes. Well, Regular Pranayan, Yoga or Meditation is really good for reducing stress & maintaining good health but curing lonliness??I dont think it helps cure lonliness. You may still feel lonely by doing all this.

I feel a way to cure lonliness is to occupy yourself with something you love doing. Sure you have something that you love doing or something you desire. So go ahead and do it. Example, for me, when I'm lonely, I listen to music, chat with people and to feel busy, I get to the gym to workout. That helps me a lot.

Hope you got my point, just do or occupy yourself with something you desire or love doing. Anyways, I understand if your going through this or if your asking for someone else, I truly understand lonliness. I'm saying this because I recently lost a loved one. Not some distant relation but in my immediate family. Day by day, I'm missing that person more and more. I'm still young, single, not married and just about to finish my teens. So I'm lonely too but I try my best to occupy myself with the things I desire the most.

Sorry if I went to far on my explaination, hope I helped you out on this situation.

Honestly.....

Turn off your internet and get outside, meet people, find a hobby you enjoy (because we all have something we enjoy) and then find a group of people that do it. "YES, there ARE people out there that enjoy doing almost anything you can think of...and they enjoy doing it with other people"...

Getting around people that enjoy what you enjoy can truly help a person to get out of the lonely rut. It not only gives you something to 'start' a conversation about...but it opens up the pathway to other conversations.

While chatting on the internet is fine, it has become so many people's only form of communication that we tend to forget there is a whole world out there beyond the net. I myself am guilty of this, I spent three years hidng behind my computer screen playing on line games, chatting and living for emails.
While I never felt lonely, I did find that I didn't do anything that didn't revolve around what time this or that happened on line.

Yoga, if you find a place to do it with other people, can help to cure your feelings of loneliness but I don't believe it will 'fix' it completely. Keeping yourself busy as well as keeping your mind busy will help.

Good luck
~hugs~

hey,

imagine that your hand was broken, and then you took pain killers, will pain killers make your hand come back to its normal shape? of course not, because you are not trying to fix the main problem, the same will yoga and meditation do

loneliness is the lack of intimacy, find intimate relationships, expand your relations, share your emotions with others, only then you wont feel lonley, and pain killers will only suppress the symptons but loneliness will be lingering there, i suggest you take a look at the link below

Reading the Bible is also a cure for loneliness. Believing that there is God, you will find that you will never be alone anywhere, anytime, whatsoever, you will never be lonely.

Meditate all you want, the best cure is a good friend.

I pretend the people on tv are talking/performing for me, and that they can see me when I talk to them, and when I listen to the radio every song is a private performance to me. If you start to see spirits you don't feel completely alone but they don't talk much
