are the stitches edible? do they just dissolve in your mouth and go away naturally or is it like made out of special material or something?

When you have a tooth removed, in order for the gums to heal properly a blood clot must form and stay in the socket. The blood clot can come out if you suck through a straw, smoke, or spit. Any type of sucking action can draw out the blood clot and cause a dry socket. After a tooth is removed if the socket is too big or it was a difficult extraction they may place stitiches to help that blood clot stay in place and prevent you from having a dry socket. These stitches do dissolve on their own. All of this should be given to you in your post-op instructions when you have the tooth removed. I hope all goes well and remember to take it easy, no sucking ;), and a soft diet for a couple days.Hope this helps out....Maria

No you received't lose your voice. engaged on Sunday ought to no longer problem you. you'll more beneficial than likely be tender the position the tooth were bumped off yet no clarification why you may't keep on on your regularly occurring recurring. you may devour any foodstuff that does no longer require chewing like steak or beef chops and so on. Any comfortable foodstuff is superb, like sandwiches, salad, spaghetti any issue like that. i do not bear in options going back to get stitches out, they could nicely be the dissolving form. i assume you would possibly want to apply a mouthwash in case you've been demanding about the stitches. No do no longer brush the stitches, which will in undemanding words aggravate them. The dentist will answer all of those questions, he will allow you to know once you should come back for a examine up or what ingredients to stay faraway from and how lengthy. you'd be superb, truly, that's not that good sized of a deal.

Sometimes when you have teeth pulled, the sockets where the teeth were, get dry and they start to hurt. As with the stitches sometimes the gums cover most of your wisdom teeth except for the top part that chews through the food and so they have to cut the gums to get the tooth and they might also file down the jaw bone and put stitches in your gums.

Have you gotten them taken out or are you getting them taken out. I can't tell with how you worded the question. Any kind of procudure where you are getting surgery you have to get stitched. You get stitched up in the spot where the teeth are extracted and you are warned to not suck on any straws or have any pressure in the mouth because that will create dry sockets, and you don't want that. A dry socket is created when you pop open a stitch from sucking thru a straw, and the blood doesn't clot correctly, and its very painful. Then you have to go back to the dentist to get the stitches re done.

Wisdom teeth are hard to get out, sometimes gum surgery is necessary, anyway a big bloody hole results and tissue is stiched so it will heal better.

This should answer your questions. It's not as bad as it sounds. It's all done under anesthetic and afterward you get pain relievers.
