No, I never even knew it was sold for that purpose. I've taken it off and on for years in the pure tripeptide form and my skin has not lightened one bit. I've also taken tubs of n-acteyl-cysteine capsules, which forms glutathione in the body, with no lightening of the skin.

Glutathione is safe to take because it is good for your liver but the medical literature does not mention it's use as a skin lightening agent.
