God doesn't create things without purpose. Everything He created had a purpose. YOU have a purpose. you should not look within, at your own desires or dreams - but you must start at place that lines up with the Will of God and His eternal purposes. Real meaning and significance comes from understanding and fulfilling God’s purposes for putting us on earth.
Ever hear of "the purpose driven life"? - its a really good book that talks about our purpose and why were are here. Its a Christian book, but its a great book.

I agree w/ Elm and Leah; read the Purpose Driven Life; its a great book to help you understand the meaning of life. I know a lot of people don't think there's an answer to the question "What's the meaning of life?" But, there is and this book is a great start to understanding it. You can probably find one in a library, or used on-line for under $10. May also consider the book "The Good Life" by Charles Colson; a former non-believer who ended up in jail for Watergate scandal. Both great books for helping to understand what life is all about. Good luck, I'll pray for you my brother.

You are at a difficult point in your life. People asking about your future plans, college, work... It can be scary to not know what comes next. Your purpose in life is to serve God don't make it any more difficult than that.
I am a Christian not a Muslim. When I was at this point in my life I stepped back and completely reevaluated my Christian beliefs. It helped me to go back to basics and not just assume what I have been told all my life was true. I am still a Christian and this process made my beliefs stronger.

When God made us, he implanted within us a burning desire for his will. Knowing his will and following it will give meaning to our life. This implies that it is our responsibility to give meaning to our life. Our task then is to find out his will for us.
God's plan for our lives is etched in our desires. To discover God's plan we need to have a personal relationship with him. But because he gave us free will, he will not tell us to be a doctor, an engineer or priest. That's up to us. That means we have to pray and reflect on it a bit. Maybe even ask other people to help us discern it. No big deal, really.
All of us have received gifts from God. Our primary gift or best gift is an indication of God's plan for us. We will find in it the handwriting of God. It will point to our life project, our assigned purpose, our God ordained mission. It will also point to our happiness.
Peace and every blessing!

Everyone has a purpose and it takes time. All i can tell you is that when you find it you will WANT to do it, you will enjoy doing it even if you wernt paid to do so. Start with what you know you like. Find ways that you can use your talents to honor God. Remember even the most meaningless of tasks can be used as an offering to God because of your prespective......
Its kind of like the story of the useless football player. He never showed up to practice, always late and never put much effort into it. One day he begged the coach to play. The coach rather bewildered said, "No way, you dont even practice". But the boy persisited and finally the coach gave him one shot, on the condition that if he didnt do good, he was going to kick him out.
Now the boy was phenominal, he was ducking, jukeing, and diving all over the place--unbelievable. Coach couldn't belive his eyes. At the end of the game, Coach went up to the boy and said, "What's gotten into you? Your supposed to be the useless one!"
.......the boy responded by saying, "Coach, its because my daddy died yesterday........Today is the first day he gets to see me play".
AS LONG AS YOU KNOW WHO YOUR PLAYING FOR, YOU CANNOT GO WRONG.
try reading Luke 19:11-27 and may the love of God in Christ fill you.

God created us to have a relationship with Him as His first two people before they sinned.
Because we are all sinners God Himself came down to earth as a son with a mission in mind to reunite us with him.
His life on earth was pure and sinless, He showed us that it is possible to do His will and still live in a sin infested world.
You sound like a cool guy i want to talk to you some more.

I think the only reason we are here is to help each other and love each other. We need to take care of each other whenever possible. Ease suffering whenever you can. Be loving and understanding with everyone.
