BIG market = BIG $$$

Im a So Cal native and I know why football wont work in LA. I love me some foosball bobby, but momma thinks LA is the DEVIL bobby. Its a city of enormous and diverse populations. Meaning way too many people are interested in other things. The Lakers have one off year and the Clippers have the keys to the city.

Need more proof? USC couldnt buy a W against cross town rival UCLA before Pete. Fill up half the stadium in the slums? Not on your life, not even for a Notre Dame game would you get a sell out.

Still thirst for more? The Ducks run to the stanly cup finals was highlighted by gettin jiggy wit it. along with the Ducks ran the mighty angels to the top of their proffession. when the Angels took off in 2002, they had problems selling tickets the last month of the season. imagine that, a WS champion couldnt sell out 40k seats in a stretch run. when my in laws went to game 6 they left early, but were sure to grab some thunder sticks on the way out.

the last point im going to make is this. nobody is from LA, they all move here to become the next Andy Kauffman. they bring with them their love for the sox or the cubbies or the bronx bombers, or oddly enough the kansas city royals. so a true fan base does not exist, but transplants whose team is in town does. Saddest of all, when the lams and traders were here, i didnt like either and i grew up her. So now i gotta go to Oakland or San Diego to see my Brownies play

The Governator is pushing to get another team there. However, for some reason, this major market can not seem to keep teams. We have lost 3 teams in the history of professional football. The Chargers left early, then the Raiders and Rams. Part of the problem I have heard is the stadium. The NFL is big on giving a new team a brand spanking new stadium to play in. LA does not want to build another one, but would rather just keep them in the Colloseum. When the people in charge start arguing about this stuff it usually puts the brakes on the deal.
I am one of those people that would like a new team here. And when I say new, I mean an expansion team, not a replaced one.

I don't think L.A. should get a football team. The city is the second largest, but what was the average attendance at Raiders games after 1986? The Coluseum is not an NFL stadium, so the first thing L.A. needs is a new stadium. That is one of the factors that will keep a team from there. If fans can show support for an NFL team, maybe it can work there, but then again, look at Houston.

Everyone does not want Los Angeles to have a Pro football team. Paul Tagliabue wanted L.A. to have a team because it is the second largest city in the United States. Los Angeles would not use civic money to build a stadium so Houston got the expansion team. Now Tagliabue is gone and Roger Goodell realizes that having a pro football team is a low priority for the citizens of Los Angeles. There are millions of football fans in the city and we all have our favorite teams. Nobody is going to abandon that team to cheer for some dreadful expansion team or some relocated losers.

Yeah, they have been talking about this since the Raiders left. And before that The Rams

Because truely they deserve one. A city like LA should have every sport in it. There is SOOO many people there, plus all the celebs and rich people would take care of your box seats and stuff. LA is a HUGE media based town. ANy town/city like that should have 1 if not 2, of every sport. I'm a Bears fan, but I'd like to see LA get a team

It's the second biggest city in the country - they have every right to have a football team. Sometimes people don't know what they had until it's lost. There are enough LA football fans to support the industry.

they lost the raiders because davis is stupid and can't run a team. he moved becuase the city wouldn't do what he said. the reason people want a team there is because as the second largest city in the country, the ad revenue would be huge, and the networks would have to shell out a lot more for the tv deals because there would be more interest in the second biggest market,a nd tv deals are what drives the nfl's revenue

Los Angelas is the second biggest TV market in the country and companies pay netwoks huge money to run advertising then the Network pays the NFL a ton. Most of the money in sports these days are from TV advertising, just makes sense to have a team in the second biggest market.
