I have a cousin who is in the Air Force and I wanted to get him a nice birthday present. He is only 19 and has been in the the Air Force for only about 4 months and is stateside. He a typical guy I just don't know what would be a useful birthday present other than money or giftcard? I'm on limited budget. Thanks for any advice.

There is not usually a lot of room for storage in their living space, so anything that can be used up would be great. Some homemade goodies from your kitchen that he can share, cookies, candy, spiced nuts. Or a care package, with his favorite snacks.
A girly magazine, some small games, crossword puzzles. Maybe even put in an envelope with a small amount of cash, to finance a trip to the commissary.

Folks in the military spend alot of time waiting around, so things to pass the time are usually good. Since he's stateside right now, a gift card to Blockbuster would likely be fun. You could pack the giftcard in a small box with microwave popcorn and some typical movie candy like skittles and M&M's.

Christian or not, he would have plenty of time doing nothing and waiting. Why not amuse him with love letter from Jesus Christ and war novels found in the Old Testament. Guys in the military love to read about wars. The Holy Bible is never outdated. It has been read for nearly two thousand years. So many translations. Never boring otherwise people won't seek it. Publishers published millions of them in different translations around the world.
