You're actually interested in VASCULITIS. More information about it is found here: http://www.medicinenet.com/vasculitis/article.htm.

It can be caused by many different diseases, so the physician must determine which disease is causing the problem in order to cure it. Until then, the patient will receive strong anti-inflammatory medications to turn down that aspect of the immune system.

Unfortunately, if you are looking for an at home remedy, the only thing to recommend is to eat healthy.

Well I have vascultis. It is extremely painful, and even at it's mildest it is very painful, but literally the most painful thing at full bore and is literally torture in the true sense. There are many different types of vasculitis, so it depends on what kinds. Some can be cured, while others can't and are chroninc. I, unfortunately have the chronic kind that goes away, and then will spontaneously come back a month later. It's inflammation of the veins or bloodcells. If the kid has my kind of vasculitis, then there really isn't a cure for it.

What one does is try to take prednisone, which is a steroid that supresses the immune system since vasculitis is an autoimmune disease. Prednisone is not a great drug, that makes you have acne, bloated with fluid retention if taken for a considerable amount of time, and it has to be slowly waned off when one is trying to finish taking it. This, treatment is decent, but it won't help severe flare ups, but if used strongly right away it might help minimize the flare up.

I mean, I had to use cytoxcin when things became so bad, but one does not want to use this unless very necessary, because chemo is not good. This helped end the vasculitis flare up, but I also had to be careful with what I touched and constantly washing my hands, and staying away from people so I wouldn't get sick, since chemo really knocks down a person's immune system. The unfortunate thing depending on the chemo is that it is not preventable or curable or atleast not for my type. And many doctors have difficulty on pin pointing exactly what causes flare ups.

The speculation from me and the belief from the top doctors that I have met is that strong viruses can trigger one's immune system, which is over aggresive and does not send out its signals to attacks the good tissue and blood cells after the virus is handled. It could also be caused by allergies, since this another type of antigen, and the immune system falsely reacts to this allegen and attacks the bloods cells. So antigens whether bacteria, virus, allergens, and even enough trauma from physical injury can cause vasculitis to flare up from a prone, complex immune system.

Perhaps allergy medicine, and just taking care of one self is a way of handling it, but there really isn't a treatment to end certain types of vasculitis. They say many autoimmune deficiencys such as vasculitis can be caused from people who have mixed chimerisms, meaning a person needed a bonemarrow or other type of transplant with a donor cells inside, and sometimes this can cause conflicts. What one wants to do if they have vasculitis, especially if it affects the legs anf feet is to rest and not force it, because, trust me, a person will pay for it. Whatever, pain there was that was quite tender, but seemingly bearable can change very fast where a person is walking aroung to later on the person can't even walk, and is limping so badly that he or she would rather just crawl.

So it is important for one to keep their legs up, use ice, take a pain relieve. Motrin helps for, when it is a moderate flare up, since it is an antiinflammatory drug, and that is why tylenol doesn't help, because brining down the inflamation is what truly subsides some of the pain from vasculitis. They should also buy some Aloe gel, or juice which one can drink and also put in the inlfammed area and it does help.

You can the pure aloe gel or juice at the nearest GNC store. So, there you go, if you can add details of what type of what the vascultis has or affects regarding how it looks then I would know more about what type if could be. Hope this helps.

It's vasculitis. The treatment is generally prednisone and sometimes cytoxan to suppress the immune system. Inflammation needs to be controlled.
