Is there anyone who can help me? I am thinking about ordering Proactiv Solution. My acne is not too terribly bad, but it still bothers me. I've seen all the info-mercials on t.v and it seems to be a really great product. Any advice?

First of all, your skin cannot get addicted to it! But there is no cure for acne, you can only prevent it as long as your body decides to keep breaking out (there's a lot of causes for acne, but that's another story) so you have to keep using something or your acne will come right back.

I actually work for Proactiv and I'm also an esthetician. First of all, nothing works on everybody, but 90% of the time people say it doesnt work is because they're not using it right or have the right kit! It can take up to 60 days to fully clear (but the average time is 3-6 wks.) Breakouts start 2 wks before you even see it, so you will continue to have new blemishes for a while. You absolutely have to be consistent with it- twice a day every day and mask 2-3 times per week. Also, there isn't a moisturizer in the 3 piece kit, so make sure you get the Oil Free Moisture with SPF 15 or the Green Tea Moisturizer or you will get very dry. If you get dry, your skin will produce more oil, defeating the purpose of the oil control agents! Hope this helps!!

My mom ordered some for me, because I had tried a lot of different products and wasn't having much luck. I love it. It cleared things up within a week or two (I didn't have bad acne, but like you, what I had still bothered me)

I find that it is a little drying to the skin (I have very sensitive skin) so I only use it at night, and use a milder clenser in the morning. Even with only using it once a day (they recomend two) it works for me. I've heard that you can sometimes break out when you first start using it, but that didn't happen to me.

I love the product, and you don't need to use too much, so it lasts for a while, which helps to offset the cost. If you keep your eyes open, they often have specials on it where you get reduced shipping or free products with it.

I would highly recommend it. I have been using Proactiv for about 6 months now and i have never seen such results! I am part of the plan, which means that i get a new kit every 60 days. It is a wonderful product.
Also, i have extremely sensitive skin, and it still is amazing. However whenever it does dry out my skin, i simply mix the repairing lotion with my cetaphil facial moisturizer. i would also highly recommend the moisturizer. i would definitly give proactiv a shot. just don't join the club at once just in case you don't like the product.
i can tell you though from my personal experiences with it that it's amazing and i almost never break out. except for a few zits around that special time of month.
good luck!

Definately a don't. It only made my problem worse. I'll tell you what you totally need to try that will work. It's called Clear.now. It is a 3 step system like Pro-Activ but it works much better; in fact they guarentee you it will work or they'll refund 100% of your money so you cannot lose. I would try this before Proactiv because if you don't like it you can always get your money back. It isn't available in any stores but you can go to http://www.adrennan.qhealthebeauty.com and find it there. I am tellin you I tried everything on the market and this stuff was the only thing to help. It's incredible.

yes it is a great product...but use it as directed. For it to work you HAVE to use it 2 times a day as directed. If you don't use it 2 times a day every day then its not going to work. Your face will never look better or feel better or feel cleaner with any other product. I have tried everything...even Prescribed acne treatment...but the only thing that worked was proactive. my acne is not bad either...just a few here and there, but I didn't like mine either. So it is worth every penny you pay for it...but only if you use it the right way. Good luck!

THIS WORKS FAST & CHEAP!!!
I used Tetracyclin, Proactive, Retina A and had many expensive facials with less than good results.
This has worked for me and many many other happy people. Go to pharm.,Drug store, or Walmart,
buy "PURPOSE" bar of soap - Blue box - Made by Johnson & Johnson - wash your face with this
2-3x's per day. Also pick up a LOW strength Benzoyl-peroxide cream, apply the cream by dabbing
to the individual blemishes.... DONT rub it in works using a oxidation/reduction reaction...DONT over
use this or put anywhere else on your face.. It will cause drying and make you look worse. Also, If need
which probably will for moisture ASK FOR "NUTRADERM lotion" - the orginal not the new stuff, this works
great and wont clog pores or leave a residue on your skin...Additonal TIPS: acne, pimples, etc are
frequently cause by a bacteria or hormone issues.... DONT PICK POP POKE (your hands are the
dirtiest part of your body) and will cause: infections, spreading of germs, more breakouts and scarring
DONT EVER listen to people online who tell you to scrub your sensative skin or use harsh chemicals
such as: Lemon juice, vinagar, alcohol, etc... DONT EVER use that APRICOT CRAP!!! DONT USE
PROACTIVE- this is expensive and harsh it may kill the bacteria cause also Benzoyl based wash but
will irritate skin and cause bleaching of face and neck.... Other similar treatments may work.. also
things such as Accutane but have serious side effects.... THIS WORKS FAST AND CHEAP!!! I no
longer get expensive facials, take oral antibiotics, or even NEED makeup... I am very happy - Have
very good skin... and have many many other happy friends... THANKS again to my WONDERFUL
DERMATOLOGIST... TRY THIS!! GOOD LUCK.... PS. "PURPOSE" costs about $3

Try acne free. I use it and it works well. You can find it at any wal-mart and most grocery stores. I used proactive for a while, but didn't like have to pay the shipping all the time. The acne free is the same stuff, but you can find it anywhere and it is a few bucks cheaper. Sometimes, you can even find coupons for it.

I've personally never used it, but from what I've heard its a total waste.

If you have really bad acne, you might want to consider acutane- its intense but well worth it in the end. The only problem with it is that it gets REALLY bad until it can get good. i recommend doing it when you can hide away becuase there is nothign that can cover the acutane.

If not try getting retin-a microb.. ive recommended it many times because it seems to really work well for people with mild acne.

You can buy the same thing at the drug store for a whole lot less money. It is benzol peroxide. Besides it does not work. You can get a prescription from you doctor or a dematologist; prescription medicine is the only thing that works. Over the counter pimple and acne "cures" are snake oil.

If your skin situation is just acne, it is the perfect solution. If not, and you have more than just one condition, use Murad. You can have a dermatologist determine what you need, or you can experiment. If ProactivSolution is not the one for you, pass it on to a friend.
