A pet quality puppy from a responsible breeder will cost anywhere from $600 - $1500 depending on color (harlequins, mantles & blues are usually a little higher priced because of the difficulty in breeding these colors and the smaller gene pool) and on bloodline. A show quality puppy will cost anywhere from $1000 - $2500 + again depending on color and lines.
Also be ware of breeders that charge more for females then they do males this is a sign of an irresponsible breeder. There should be no difference in price between sexes.
Make sure any puppy you get is from a responsible breeder that health tests (OFA/PennHip, CERF/PRA, Thyroid, etc) has researched pedigree for health, temperament, longevity and breed standard, shows or has their dogs evaluated to see if they meet breed standard and don't breed any dog under the age of 2 years. Also make sure that the breeder you chose sells all pets on limited registration and spay/neuter agreements, has a sales contract and a health contract that covers genetic issues up to at least 2 years of age (age at which most issues start showing up). Also make sure the puppies are registered with a legit registry..AKC, UKC (United Kennel Club) or CKC (Canadian Kennel Club) and not one of those scam registries.

Trying to find a good price for a dog is tricky, because you might find a great dog for a small amount or a horribly inbred dog for a lot. Don't focus on price so much as you should focus on your dog's genetics. Research breeders (breeders.net is a great breeder directory) and try to have conversations with the breeders themselves. Make sure they're real people, not puppy mills. If you want a good pure bred, you really have to suck it up when it comes to price.
Or you could always rescue. I'm sure there are a ton of Great Dane rescues out there - you could just Google "Great Dane Rescue" and stick your city or state in there. You could also try Petfinder.org, where you can search through Great Danes for adoption. I prefer rescuing, cuz there are so many dogs out there that need good homes, but it's really up to you. Good luck to you either way!

It depends on what you want the dog for. Do you plan to show or breed? $1000-2400. Depending on the lines. Females cost more. If you want a dog for a pet 800-1000. If you don't care about papers and all that jazz. $400. You can go to great dane rescue and adopt a dane for about 400, they have no papers and are already spayed or neutered. I recommend petfinder.com There are some beautiful danes for adoption out there.
