is my daughter on a diet or something?
i'm not sure, but she might be...
i've noticed her making tea a lot and not drinking any of the diet cokes in the fridge, which she once loved! i've also noticed there are still the small bags of chips in the cabinet. i went to the grocery store today and told her i was going, usually she'll say "mom i want some..." and list something. usually funyuns.

she's not fat at all. she's 5'4 i think, and about 120-130lb.
should i ask her, or would that offend her?

Just tell her that you've noticed some changes in her eating habits and maybe she'll open up to you. Sometimes girls that age just want to start being healthy and if that is the case encourage it. You're her mom you can ask all the questions you want especially when they concern the well being of your child

totally agree with the person who made the comment about complementing her on making More healthy choices go that route and she may just say oh no its i am on a diet or she may say yeah i am trying to get healthy and not eat so much junk etc and that may open the line for a discussion and then you can offer to pick up fruit yogurt baked chips or those 100 calorie packs for her to snack on and watch her at dinner and any other time you eat to together and make sure she is actually eating not just moving it around her plate and that she is not running to her room or bathroom right after eating to possibly throw up but i would not jump to the conclusion of a eating disorder right away but offer to get her more healthy choices so she is still eating but also feels good about what she is putting in her body

This is your daughter and you are asking if you should ask her a question? Maybe the next time you are at the store you should find out how much a spine cost. It could be that your daughter is just making better and healthier choices.

You won't offend her for sure, just keep an eye on her before is too late. I was doing the same when I ws younger and I became bulimic, also my mother didn't interfere, no one told me the consequenses and I had serious problems later... She might become anorexic. So ask her what's on her mind!

How old is she, my 12 & 16 year olds have suddenly gotten health conscious. I thought like that too, but they're not losing weight, they're just doing what I do. They actually think I'm smart! Maybe you too?

yeah she's kinda trying to be on a diet.
i'm 13 and i'm doing the same thing.
we don't tell our parents because we know they think it's ridiculous...but we do it anyway.
so yes, she's trying to lose weight.
but just make sure she's not doing anything to drastic.
