At our church we have a fairly extensive bar available for most functions, but usually everyone brings something to share. Being Presbyterian, of course there is wine. But there is also usually an odd assortment of beers, and a few harder things for those who want to mix.
It was quite a shock to me when at my first Elders Retreat everybody started bringing out the liquor bottles and mixers. But as the saying goes.......if there are 4 Presbyterians, there'll be a 5th--LOL!
