he isnt constantly squinting it but i have noticed him squinting that one eye from time to time. He doesnt seem to be in any pain, hes been eating and everything...so no signs of him being in any pain at all. Im just wondering if this is something i should be worried about and if it is any ideas of what this could be?

You definitely need to get your cat into the vet. Frequent squinting or blinking can signal that your cats eye(s) IS painful. Keep in mind that an animals natural instinct is to hide any defects and/or weaknesses (their instinct tell them showing illness can give a predator the open door to attack), so signs of pain can be minimal. The possible causes to your cats blepharospasm (constant blinking of the eye) ranges from allergies and foreign body to cataracts, glaucoma, and/or tear duct problems. Any/all of these require diagnoses and treatment from a Veterinarian.

He may have a sensitivity to light. Watch when he squints the most and then call your vet and give them the symptoms.

Why worry after a year of the cat doing this? should have been to a vet a long time ago.

Since this has been happening for over a year, and it doesn't seem to be bothering him, don't worry about it. Could just be a quirk he developed.

He's winking at you because he thinks you're cute. More than likely he doesn't know otherwise how to approach about this. Seriously, take him to - or call - a vet if you're concerned...

Please, get your cat to the vet asap. Get that eye checked. I had a cat that went blind, due to cataracts, and deterioration in the back of her eyes. Was told don't rearrange the furniture, and she did fine. Please make sure your cat is truly okay. Take care.
