He has always been a sub par driver. Now he wants to be a hands on owner/driver and frankly he just doesn't have what it takes.I'll tell now,he's not that rich either,he's invested up to his nostrils in this thing. If the COT doesn't turn it around for him he may want to call big bro

It will take one of several different things. First there would be a better chance of the 55 car getting in if it had a different driver. If Mikey stays in the car it will probably make the show at Talledaga, April 29th. The 55 car could also make a race if MWR loses sponsorship and another team picks up that number. One last scenario is if Michael Waltrip brings in a partner with some actual knowledge of what it takes to build a successful team.

The #55 of Michael Waltrip has to get improved technology and has to be a benefactor of about 45 cars qualifying instead of the 51 that qualified in Atlanta. To get into races the team probably should run more laps qualifying trim than race trim in practices and tests. Also, what will help him is using his teammates set ups in practices to learn more about the car. I think the first race he will qualify for will be Phoenix or Talladega.

Introducing the new Waltrip Racing #55 CHEVROLET!!!!
But seriously, I don't know...... After all the attention to the cheating, nobody's asked that question and I think the media is afraid to ask and I think the Toyota teams aren't ready or too embarrassed to discuss that.
Having a crew chief might help!

He's going through a low point in his career, he's driving for his own team, brand new team, and Waltrip Racing doesn't have the stuff to compete with Hendrik Mororsports, Joe Gibbs Racing, Roush Racing, RCR, yet I'm sure that he'll figure it out.

Well, managing your own team is hard, espically with not much money. Without money, cars don't run right. His team doesn't have much money. #44 is running good but only with championship provisionals. Of course, Michael needs some effort into his driving.

only 4 of 7 that were in qualifying tonight at atlanta made it in the show. and one was a championship provisional. I think that more testing was put into the car of tomorrow and when we get to those 16 races we will see them excel. I just hope Cheverolet has put a lot of testing into theres as well.
